Connect Feishu to the Duaer knowledge base
Index Feishu wiki spaces, Docs, Base and drive files, and optionally group chats and Minutes, with Feishu’s own sharing; employees can also ask Duaer in Feishu.
What Duaer reads in Feishu
Duaer reads the wiki spaces and drive folders the Feishu app can open. Under Choose what to index you can keep only some of them.
- Docs: the full text.
- Base: the records of each table, up to 2,000 per table.
- Files in wiki and drive: TXT, Markdown, CSV, TSV, JSON, PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx) and PowerPoint (.pptx) up to 20 MB. Sheets, slides, mind notes, older Docs, other formats and larger files are indexed by title only; the source card counts them by reason.
- Group chats, once turned on: the last 30 days of messages in the groups the bot is in, text from people only, without files or images. Only members of a group find them. The app needs im:message.group_msg and im:chat:readonly.
- Minutes, once turned on: the minutes members own or took part in over the last 90 days, with their summary, to-dos, chapters and transcript. Only the owner and participants find a minute. Duaer searches for each member it has matched to a Feishu account, once an hour. The app needs minutes:minutes.search:read, minutes:minutes.basic:read and minutes:minutes.artifacts:read; a missing one is listed on the source with a link to grant it.
One indexing pass reads up to 5,000 items.
Connect Feishu
- In the Feishu Open Platform, create a custom app for your company. Give it read access to wiki, Docs, drive, Base and contacts, and add it to the wiki spaces and folders you want indexed.
- In Duaer, create a Feishu Tenant Token API credential with the app’s App ID and App Secret. Keep it in a team project, so other admins can maintain it.
- As an owner or admin, open Data sources in the sidebar, select Add source and choose Feishu, choose Knowledge source under Add as, then choose the credential and click Connect. Indexing starts right away.
- Optional: click Choose what to index and tick the wiki spaces and drive folders to keep.
- Copy the Redirect URL for member sign-in from the source and add it under Security settings › Redirect URLs in the Feishu app. Without it, members get error 20029 when they link their account.
- Ask a question whose answer is in a Feishu document, and check that the citation opens it.
Who finds which document
Duaer keeps Feishu’s sharing. A document is found only by the people, departments (with their sub-departments) and groups it is shared with in Feishu. Shared by link with the organization, it is found by every member known in Feishu; shared by link with anyone on the internet, it is still open only within the organization in Duaer. User groups in a permission cannot be expanded and open nothing.
Members are matched to Feishu by email. The source card shows how many members are known in Feishu, and Show members lists who is not. A member can link their own account with Link Feishu account under Knowledge base on the Duaer employee portal, or an admin clicks Map and enters their Feishu email or mobile number. A member who is not known finds nothing from Feishu.
How soon changes show
- Edited documents are read again every 10 minutes.
- Who may open each document is read again every hour, so a removed share stops working within the hour.
- With Live updates on, a file is indexed again as soon as it changes. Also subscribe to the events the source lists under Events and callbacks in the Feishu app.
- Index now starts a pass at once; Disconnect removes all Feishu content from the knowledge base.
Ask Duaer in Feishu
- On the Feishu source, turn on Ask Duaer in Feishu and enter the app’s Verification Token and Encrypt Key.
- In the Feishu app, under Events and callbacks, put the request URL shown on the source for both events and callbacks, subscribe to the receive message event, add the card action callback, and turn on the bot.
- Employees message the bot directly, or mention it in a group.
Answers cite their sources and use only what the person asking may open. The bot also answers about their own cards, cases and followed metrics; when they ask it to do something, it sends a card with Run and Cancel. With Send cards to their owners on, cards that workflows create reach their owners in Feishu, and they decide with one click.
Limits
- Up to 5,000 items per pass, 2,000 records per Base table, and files up to 20 MB.
- Up to 200 group chats, the last 30 days only.
- Duaer never changes content in Feishu. Save to Feishu Docs on the employee portal only creates a new document that the employee owns; see the Duaer employee portal.
- Feishu approvals and Base can also be process sources; see Add a process source.
Questions
Why is a Feishu file found only by its title?
It is of a kind whose text Duaer does not read (such as a sheet or slides), larger than 20 MB, or could not be read. The source card counts them by reason.
Members get error 20029 when they link Feishu. What is wrong?
The Feishu app lacks the redirect URL for member sign-in. Add the URL shown on the source under Security settings › Redirect URLs.
The source says the Feishu app lacks a permission.
Click Open the app’s permissions, grant any one of the permissions named, then click Index now.

Permission-aware enterprise AI search filters results by what each person may open in the source system, before any answer is written. Duaer follows the source’s permissions: a document shows up only for people who can open it where it lives, and answers use only those documents.
