# Fix Google Sheets 429 quota exceeded in Duaer

When the Google Sheets node in Duaer returns 429 or Quota exceeded, it sent too many requests in a minute. Write in bulk, or batch with a wait.
## What the error looks like in Duaer

- The service is receiving too many requests from you
- Quota exceeded for quota metric 'Read requests' and limit 'Read requests per minute per user' (Write requests when writing)

The Google Sheets API allows 300 read and 300 write requests per minute per project, and 60 each per user. When Duaer calls the API once per item, a few dozen items hit the limit.

## Fix it in Duaer

1. Make fewer calls: one [Google Sheets](/build/google-sheets.md) node with many items writes them together with Append Row. Avoid a lookup node before every item.
2. When you must go item by item, add [Loop Over Items](/build/loop-over-items.md) with Batch Size 50 and a [Wait](/build/wait.md) of 60 seconds inside the loop.
3. In Duaer, open the failing node, switch to Settings, turn on Retry On Fail, set Max. Tries to 3–5 and Wait Between Tries (ms) to 5000.
4. When you look up the same sheet many times, read it once and match in memory with [Merge](/build/merge.md) or an expression.
## Questions

### Can Duaer raise my Google Sheets quota?

No. The quota belongs to your Google Cloud project; request more there. In Duaer, make fewer calls and batch with waits.

### Does Retry On Fail fully fix 429 in Duaer?

Only for occasional spikes. When a Duaer flow keeps hitting the limit, write in bulk or slow down with Loop Over Items and Wait.
