PDF table to Excel converter (text PDFs)

A free Duaer tool that reads text positions in a PDF and rebuilds table rows and columns as Excel, in your browser. Best for PDFs with selectable text; invoices and statements with varied layouts fit a Duaer extraction flow.

How to use it

  1. Drop the file into the box above, or click "choose a file".
  2. Check the preview to make sure rows and columns line up.
  3. Click "Download .xlsx".
  4. Pages are combined into one table by default; choose "One sheet per page" under Output to split them.

What to expect

  • Only PDFs whose text you can select and copy will work. Scans and photos have no text layer and are reported as unreadable.
  • Rows follow text height and columns follow horizontal position. Ruled reports with one record per line work best.
  • Cells spanning rows, rotated headers, and multi-column layouts may shift, so check the preview before downloading.

Automate it in Duaer

Invoices and statements vary too much for position-based columns. Duaer reads the text with Extract from File › Extract From PDF and has a model pull out the fields; see Extract PDF invoices to Excel.

Questions

Can it convert a scanned PDF?

Not on this page, which does no OCR. Duaer also needs OCR text first and then hands it to an extraction employee; see Extract PDF invoices to Excel.

The columns do not line up.

Try "One sheet per page", or merge shifted columns in Excel. For complex PDFs you convert every month, build an extraction flow in Duaer.

What about password-protected PDFs?

The Duaer converter cannot open PDFs that need a password. Remove the password in your reader first.
