# Group, sum, and count items in Duaer (like a pivot table)

In Duaer, the Summarize node groups items by region, customer, or category and returns sums, counts, and averages without code.
## Group and total in Duaer

1. Add [Summarize](/build/summarize.md).
2. Under Fields to Summarize add an entry with Aggregation Sum and Field amount. Add more as needed, such as Count of order_id or Average of amount.
3. Set Fields to Split By to the group field, such as region; separate several with commas.
4. Select Execute step. You get one item per group, with the total in sum_amount and counts in fields like count_order_id.

Aggregations: Append, Average, Concatenate, Count, Count Unique, Max, Min, Sum. Add [Sort](/build/sort.md) to rank by total and Convert to File to export.

## When the sum is wrong

Amounts stored as text such as "1,280.50" do not sum. Convert them in Edit Fields first: {{ Number(String($json.amount).replace(/,/g, "")) }}, type Number.
