Answer rules: one answer style, company terms and topics Duaer does not answer

In AI rules, set the tone and length of answers for the whole organization, teach Duaer the company’s own words (GMV is gross sales), and say how a blocked question is answered. Ask Duaer, chat tools and employee assistants follow them.

Set the answer rules

  1. Open Duaer Settings › AI rules and use the Questions section. Only the organization’s owners and admins can change it.
  2. Blocked topics: give a topic name and its terms. When a question has one of the terms, Duaer does not answer it.
  3. Reply to a blocked question: write the sentence said instead of the default; {topic} becomes the topic’s name. Leave it blank for the default.
  4. Answer style: the tone, length, format and language of answers, up to 1,000 characters.
  5. Company terms: one row per term with its meaning and other names (separated by commas); up to 200 terms and 10 other names each.
  6. Click Save. The change is in the audit log, without the text or the terms.

Where they apply

  • Ask Duaer on the employee portal, the Duaer bot in Feishu, WeCom, DingTalk, Slack and Microsoft Teams, and employee assistants.
  • An employee assistant’s own instructions come after the organization’s answer style and may change the style; blocked topics and company terms always apply.
  • The Duaer Assistant in the editor (for building workflows), the Duaer API and MCP do not use the answer style; blocked topics still apply to them.

How company terms are used

  • When a question names a term or one of its other names, Duaer answers knowing what it means. Terms the question does not name are left out.
  • When searching the knowledge base, Duaer also looks for the term’s other names: asking about GMV also finds documents that only write gross sales.
  • Terms and names match as whole words, whatever the case or width; an English term does not match part of a longer word.

Questions

Does every answer follow the style?

The style is a request to the model; most answers follow it, but not every sentence is guaranteed. For a strict format, describe it precisely.

Can departments have their own style and terms?

Not yet; there is one set per organization. A department can describe its own style in the instructions of its employee assistants.

Can employees see the list of company terms?

No. Terms are used to understand questions and to search; employees do not see the list.
