# Risks of community nodes in Duaer

Before you install a community node in Duaer, know the code comes from a source the instance admin trusts, and know what permissions it gets.
## What you are trusting

Community node code is not maintained as part of the Duaer product core. Installing it allows that code to run with the instance’s permissions. Install only from sources you trust, and limit who can install packages.

Unverified community packages may be disabled by default on newer versions. See the breaking-change notes for that version.
