Search Box files in your knowledge base with Duaer
Connect Box to the Duaer knowledge base. People ask about contracts, plans and reports, and find only the files Box shares with them.
What does Duaer find in Box?
Duaer walks the folders the connected account sees, from the root down, and indexes up to 5,000 files. PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text, Markdown, CSV and JSON files up to 20 MB are read; other files are found by name.
People can ask “What is the revenue forecast for Q3?”. Duaer finds the answer in a Box file and cites it, and the citation opens the file in Box.
How do you connect Box to Duaer?
- In Duaer, create a Box OAuth2 API credential and authorize it with a Box account that sees the folders people should search: an admin, or a co-admin with access to managed users' content.
- As an owner or admin, open Knowledge base › Data sources, choose the credential on the Box card and click Connect.
- When indexing is done, ask a question whose answer is in a Box file and check that the citation points to that file.
Who finds which file?
- The file's owner.
- The collaborators of the file and of every folder above it; when a group collaborates, its members.
- The whole Duaer organization, when a shared link is open to the company.
- The whole Duaer organization, when a shared link is open to anyone; such files are also marked public for the sensitive content check.
Members are matched to Box users by email. When Box does not let Duaer read a group's members, the source card counts the items this affects.
What are the limits?
- Up to 5,000 files; files over 20 MB or in other formats are found by name only.
- Box Notes and Box Canvas content, file versions, comments and metadata templates are not read.

No. Duaer only reads files to index them. It never writes or moves anything.

Duaer reads changed files every 10 minutes and reads who may see every file every hour.
