# Search locations in Duaer

In Duaer, search UniProt subcellular locations with Duaer Data. One successful search uses 1 credit. Use the formal name with proteins.location. This page includes the full English call skill.
## What you get

Locations in the Duaer data market searches UniProt subcellular locations. One successful search uses 1 credit.

Add the node from the [Duaer Data category](/getting-started/duaer-data.md) (Locations), or copy the skill on the [data market](/getting-started/data-market.md). Use the formal name with [Proteins](/getting-started/proteins.md) Location.

## Search on the canvas

1. Open the node creator, select Duaer Data, then Locations.
2. Words alone is enough (a new node starts with nucleus). Location ID and Name are optional.
3. Limit defaults to 10, max 20. Select Execute step.

A successful search uses 1 credit. Use title as location when searching proteins. Production deliverables land in the [data pool](/getting-started/data-pool.md).

- Fields combine; at least one search field is required.

# Duaer locations

Search UniProt subcellular locations through Duaer with a Duaer key.

## Call

`GET https://api.duaer.com/v1/data/locations?q=nucleus&limit=10`

Header: `Authorization: Bearer <Duaer key>`

Use an account key or a model API key.

At least one search field is required. Fields combine.
Search with `q` first; use `id` only when you already have it from a result.

- `q` — words in the location name or definition.
- `id` — optional. UniProt location id from a result (`locationId`), such as `SL-0191`.
- `name` — optional. Location name.
- `limit` — optional. From 1 to 20. Default 10.

## Result

Each item has `source`, `title`, `url`, `summary`, `locationId`, `category`, `synonyms`, and `reviewedProteinCount`.
Use `title` as `location` when searching proteins. Reuse `locationId` in `id` for an exact lookup.

## Credits

One successful search uses 1 credit.
An empty search, a failed search, a compound that matches nothing, or no remaining credits uses 0.
No remaining credits returns 402 and does not search.
A missing key returns 401.
