# Start from a template in Duaer

In Duaer, a template is a ready-made digital organization. Using it copies the canvas onto your instance. You select credentials here.
## Use a template

1. In the left sidebar, select Templates.
2. Search or open one, then select Use template.
3. The setup page lists the accounts the nodes need. Select credentials, or skip and select them on the canvas.
4. Check the nodes. Publish when it should run unattended.

A template does not bring someone else’s secrets. Accounts are credentials on your instance.

### Does editing a template in Duaer change the original template?

No. Use template copies it onto your instance. You edit that copy.
