# Sort by relevance with Duaer Rerank

In Duaer, Duaer Rerank scores items by how well their text answers a query and sorts them, most relevant first. You can keep only the top few.
## Sort by relevance

1. Search for Duaer Rerank and connect it after a node that outputs several items, such as search results or a product list.
2. In Query, enter the question, for example: boots that keep my feet dry on rocky hikes.
3. In Text, enter the text of each item to compare, usually an expression such as {{ $json.description }}.
4. Open the Model dropdown and pick a rerank model.
5. Select Execute step. Items come out from most to least relevant, keep their fields, and gain a relevanceScore field.

## Duaer Rerank options

- Top N: keep only the N most relevant items for each query and drop the rest. Leave it unset to keep all.
- Score Field: the field that holds the score. The default is relevanceScore.

When Query is an expression that differs between items, Duaer Rerank groups items by query, ranks each group on its own, and makes one call per group.

## Which models Duaer Rerank offers

The Model dropdown lists every rerank model your Duaer admin enabled under Admin → Model pool, such as Cohere Rerank, Voyage Rerank, or Qwen3 Reranker on OpenRouter.

Scores only compare within one ranking, and each model uses its own range, so do not filter with a fixed threshold across models.

### How is Duaer Rerank different from Duaer Embedding?

Duaer Embedding turns text into vectors you store and search later at scale. Duaer Rerank compares a query with a batch of candidates directly and scores them, which suits ordering tens or hundreds of results you already narrowed down. A common pattern is a vector search first, then Duaer Rerank.

### Why is the Duaer Rerank model dropdown empty?

Your Duaer admin has not enabled a rerank model under Admin → Model pool. Once one is on, it appears in the Duaer Rerank list.
