# Track numbers in Duaer with one metrics table

In Duaer, every project comes with one built-in data table named Duaer metrics that holds its numbers. Scheduled digital organizations write the values; the Duaer metrics catalog decides who sees which metric and which dimension value.
## The built-in Duaer metrics table

Every Duaer project, including personal spaces, comes with one Duaer metrics table. You do not create it. The data tables list marks it Built-in.

The table is locked: it cannot be deleted or renamed, and its columns cannot be added, removed, or renamed. Digital organizations still write rows to it. No other table can take the name.

- metric: the metric key, for example sales.revenue
- period: the start date of the period
- value: the number
- dimension_type: the dimension type, for example region; empty on the total row
- dimension: the dimension value, for example East; empty on the total row
- note: an optional short note

## Write Duaer metrics with a digital organization

1. Add a Schedule Trigger that matches the metric period, for example daily or on the first of each month.
2. Read the source: a data table, a CRM, Kingdee, or an HTTP API.
3. Use Summarize or Code to compute the total, then one row per dimension value.
4. Add a Data table node, select Duaer metrics, and choose Upsert. Match on metric, period, dimension_type, and dimension being equal; use isEmpty for the two dimension columns on the total row.
5. Publish the digital organization. Rerunning a period overwrites it instead of adding duplicates.

```
[
  { "metric": "sales.revenue", "period": "2026-09-01T00:00:00.000Z", "value": 120000, "dimension_type": "", "dimension": "" },
  { "metric": "sales.revenue", "period": "2026-09-01T00:00:00.000Z", "value": 70000, "dimension_type": "region", "dimension": "East" },
  { "metric": "sales.revenue", "period": "2026-09-01T00:00:00.000Z", "value": 50000, "dimension_type": "region", "dimension": "South" }
]
```

You can also ask Duaer Designer to build it: say which number to track, where to read it, and how to split it. Duaer Designer writes to Duaer metrics with the conventions below and offers a backfill.

## Design Duaer metric keys

- Use lowercase English with dots: <domain>.<measure>, for example sales.revenue or support.tickets_open. Do not change a key after it goes live.
- One number per row. Store rates as percent, for example 12.5 for 12.5%.
- Set period to the period start at UTC midnight. Use one granularity per key.
- Write a total row every period (both dimension columns empty), then one row per dimension value. One dimension per row.
- Dimension values are permission keys. Spell them the same way every time, for example always East, never east.

## Decide who sees each Duaer metric

1. From My metrics or the Duaer metrics table page, select Metrics catalog. Only people who can edit data tables can open it.
2. Member groups: create a group such as East sales and pick project members.
3. Dimension rules: assign each dimension value to groups or members, for example region=East → East sales. A rule applies to every metric.
4. Metrics: set the display name and unit, add viewers with By dimension rule or All values and totals, turn on Published, and save.

A new metric key starts unpublished with no viewers. A By dimension rule viewer sees only the values assigned to them and never the total, so they cannot work out other values. A dimension value without a rule is visible only to All values and totals viewers.

## Subscribe to Duaer metrics

In Operations report, open My metrics, select Add a metric, and pick one you can see. The card shows the latest value, the change from the previous period, and a trend. If you lose access, the card says so.
## Questions

### Can a digital organization change who sees a Duaer metric?

No. The Duaer metrics catalog, member groups, and dimension rules live outside the table. Digital organizations only write values to Duaer metrics.

### Can every member open the Duaer metrics table directly?

No. Raw rows are for people who can edit data tables. Other members see only their share of each Duaer metric in My metrics.

### Can I delete or rename the Duaer metrics table?

No. Duaer metrics is a locked table built into every Duaer project. It is removed only when the whole project is deleted.
